shears circa Medieval/Tudor
A pair of small iron shears from the River Thames. In a remarkable state of preservation, with only a few corrosion spots. These shears were used for light duty tasks such as cutting thread or trimming arrow flights. 93mm long. From the river Thames. Similar shears are illustrated in the "London Museum Medieval Catalogue 1940" on plate XXXII, figures 47 and 48 and are discussed on pages 153-157.
